Technical scrutiny

Consumer disputes are rarely just about money. They are about a family waiting years for a promised flat, a patient let down by deficient medical care, or a business sold a product that never matched its specification. The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 was enacted precisely so that ordinary people and small businesses could fight back without being out-spent and and this chamber uses it to that full effect.

What we handle

  • Defective goods and deficient services — vehicles, insurance, banking, telecom, education, healthcare and hospitality.
  • Real estate and builder disputes — delay in possession, refund with interest, defective conveyance, missing amenities and diversion of funds, pursued before the consumer commissions instead of, RERA remedies.
  • Misleading advertisements and unfair trade practices — including product-liability claims against manufacturers, sellers and service providers under the 2019 Act.
  • Overcharging and restrictive trade practices — hidden charges, forced add-ons and unilateral contract changes.
  • Enforcement — execution petitions when a defeated party refuses to pay, including attachment and warrants where necessary.

Where we fight for you

Every consumer case starts with a threshold question: which forum, and which claim value? Under the 2019 Act, the pecuniary jurisdiction of the District Commission, State Commission and National Commission is determined by the value of the goods or services paid plus the compensation claimed. The chamber appears before all three tiers — in Delhi, and through trusted correspondents elsewhere in India.

How the process runs

Stage What happens
Legal notice A statutory demand that often settles the dispute without litigation.
Complaint Filing with supporting evidence and the prescribed fee.
Admission & notice The opposite parties are summoned to respond.
Evidence & arguments Affidavits of evidence, expert reports where needed, written arguments.
Order & execution Refund, compensation, costs — enforced through execution if ignored.

Know your rights: The 2019 Act added a mediation-cell route for faster settlements, e-filing of complaints, and coverage of online purchases — if you bought through a marketplace, you may have claims against the seller and the platform.

Why this chamber for consumer matters

Consumer litigation rewards preparation: a tight complaint, contemporaneous evidence, expert opinions where they matter, and a lawyer who shows up prepared at every date. This is how our chamber works, and our track record speaks for itself

A Short Note

Consumer complaints are limitation-sensitive: two years from the cause of action. Preserve invoices, warranty cards and correspondence.
